Jesolo-Cavallino-Le Mesole-Lio Piccolo-Treporti-Sant’Erasmo
From Jesolo to the northern Lagoon, passing through Cavallino. An enchanting itinerary that passes through some of the oldest villages on the coastline, suspended between history and nature. Once past Cavallino, you cross Saccagnana Canal and from there, head towards Le Mesole, where there is an ancient convent dating back to 1380. Continue to Lio Piccolo, a picturesque rural village surrounded by lagoon canals and fishing valleys, popular for nesting herons, cormorants, black-winged stilts, mallards and egret.
This is ring-route along the little islands that make up the site, and then head towards Treporti. Here, you can extend the itinerary by taking your bike to the Island of Sant’Erasmo, a green oasis of vegetable gardens and orchards, an enchanting sight that has earned it the nickname “Venice’s vegetable garden”.
On a good day, it is worth waiting for sunset, to admire the spectacle of the sky, lit by colours that enhance the beauty of the Lagoon.
