Portogruaro-Concordia Sagittaria-San Gaetano-Caorle
Itinerary along the “waterway” that leads to the sea, following the well-marked cycle path that runs along the Lemene River. It starts from the centre of Portogruaro, where we recommend a comfortable and short ring-route to admire the ancient palaces in Romanesque, Gothic and Venetian-style and to reach Borgo San Giovanni, near which is the entrance to the Lemene River cycle path. After about 3 km and after crossing the bridge over the river, we reach Concordia Sagittaria, where it is worth stopping to visit the centre with the Cathedral, the Baptistery and the ancient Roman monuments adjacent to Via Claudia. For the more experienced, we recommend extending the route along the Lemene as far as Caorle, through the reclaimed landscapes, admiring the flora and fauna of the picturesque Lagoon Valleys, as far as the small village of San Gaetano.
