Bibione
12 Km 1 hours MediumPinewood-lighthouse-mouth of the Tagliamento River
A ring route that starts and ends at the lighthouse at the mouth of the Tagliamento River, taking the cycle path that starts from Via Procione. The ride includes stretches on the fossil dunes bordering the sea and on the bank of the Tagliamento River, the only alpine river still able to produce sand. The route then winds through the pine forest to the east of Bibione, a natural oasis named a Site of Community Interest for the richness and variety of its vegetation and the many species of birds that nest there. The route also crosses the productive area of the Bibione countryside, known as the “zone of the Istrians”. This part of the route allows you to discover white asparagus, one of the area’s products of excellence. It is possible to extend the itinerary by taking advantage of the bike+boat
service, active at the wharf on the Tagliamento, to reach the nearby beach of Lignano Sabbiadoro.
